Brian Gevry, CFA | Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer
Brian L. Gevry, CFA, is CEO and CIO of Boyd Watterson Asset Management, LLC, responsible for the strategic leadership of the firm and the oversight of the firm’s investment processes and committees. Brian also serves as Chairman of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to his role as CEO, Brian served as Boyd Watterson’s Chief Operating Officer from 2000–2006. Previous leadership roles with the firm include Executive Vice President and member of the Operating Committee of Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co., Boyd Watterson’s predecessor firm. Brian also held positions as a fixed income portfolio manager and senior strategist on the Conservative Value Equity and Fixed Income committees. Mr. Gevry began his career with the firm in 1991. Brian holds a CFA Charter from CFA Institute, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and a BA from Cleveland State University. He is a member of CFA Society Cleveland and of CFA Institute. Brian has 24 years of investment experience.
Timothy Hyland | Managing Director, National Director of Sales & Marketing
Timothy M. Hyland serves as National Director of Sales and Marketing for all institutional and advisor channel. Tim is a member of the Boyd Watterson Executive Committee. Tim joined predecessor firm Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. in 1994 as Executive Vice President and National Sales Manager. Prior to joining the firm, Tim held the position of Senior Vice President with McDonald & Co. Securities, Inc. since 1990. Tim joined McDonald & Co. in 1985 as an associate vice president and was elected to the firm’s Presidents’ Council for top producers in 1989. He began his career as an account executive with Smith Barney Harris & Upham in 1982 and holds a BS from Georgia Institute of Technology. Tim has 36 years of industry experience.
James Shirak | Managing Director, Deputy CHIEF Investment Officer
James R. Shirak is a member of Boyd Watterson's Executive Committee. Mr. Shirak also serves as Deputy Chief Investment Officer of BWAM and is a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2000 as a fixed income senior strategist and portfolio manager, James was founder and Principal of Sterling Asset Management in Cleveland, Ohio. Previously, he held the position of Head of Fixed Income for BP America, Inc.’s Pension Plan and Savings and Investment Plan, where he established the investment philosophy, strategy, and guidelines for the pension fund and supervised fixed income personnel. Other prior positions include Director of Fixed Income for the Investment Centre and Head of Fixed Income for the Pension Plan of Republic Steel and Lincoln National Corp. James holds an MBA and a BA from Ohio University. James is a member of CFA Society of Cleveland, CFA Institute, and is a past President of the Bond Club of Cleveland. James has 51 years of industry experience.
CLYDE BARTTER | CHAIRMAN EMERITUS
Clyde Bartter is Chairman Emeritus of BWAM and serves as a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Mr. Bartter’s previous experience includes: President, Chairman of Fixed Income Management, Manager of Client Service and Sales, Duff & Phelps; President of Portfolio Advisory Co., a division of National City Bank. Mr. Bartter is a CFA and CPA (retired); past member of the Financial Analysts Federation Advisory Board to the Financial Accounting Standards Board; past President and member of CFA Society of Cleveland and member of CFA Institute, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and CIC, Investment Advisor Association. Mr. Bartter has a BA and PhD (Honorary) from Baldwin-Wallace College and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Michael Bee | Managing Director, Investment strategist, Director of Client Service
Michael E. Bee serves on the board of directors of Titanium Asset Management and its subsidiary Boyd Watterson Asset Management. In addition, he currently serves as National Director of Client Service for all institutional and primary broker-dealer relationships and as Director of Equity Management. Michael joined Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. (Boyd Watterson's predecessor firm) as a research associate in 1990. Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a senior financial analyst within the Corporate Trust Division of the Northern Trust Company, in Chicago. Michael has served in many roles between the firm's offices in Cleveland and Chicago since joining the firm in 1990. Michael has served as a senior investment strategist for the firm and has a background in large cap equity and fixed income portfolio management. Michael holds an MBA from John Carroll University and a BS, in Economics, from DePaul University. He is a member of CFA Society of Chicago. Michael also serves on the boards of Speedeon Data, Lake Erie College (Investment Committee Chairman), and the Investment Committee of the Laurel School for Girls. Michael has 26 years of industry experience.
