BRIAN GEVRY, CFA | CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Brian L. Gevry, CFA, is CEO and CIO of Boyd Watterson Asset Management, LLC, responsible for the strategic leadership of the firm and the oversight of the firm’s investment processes and committees. Brian also serves as Chairman of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to his role as CEO, Brian served as Boyd Watterson’s chief operating officer from 2000–2006. Previous leadership roles with the firm include executive vice president and member of the Operating Committee of Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co., Boyd Watterson’s predecessor firm. Brian also held positions as a fixed income portfolio manager and senior strategist on the Conservative Value Equity and Fixed Income committees. Brian began his career with the firm in 1991. Brian holds a CFA Charter from CFA Institute, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and a BA from Cleveland State University. He is a member of CFA Society Cleveland and of CFA Institute. Brian has 24 years of investment experience.
ROBERT LAW | EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER of Real estate
Robert Law serves as chief investment officer and portfolio manager on the real estate team. Bob is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee. Prior to joining Boyd in 2009, Bob worked for fourteen years at Mercantile Bank and Trust Company in Baltimore as the managing director of real estate investment management. While at Mercantile, Bob grew the AFL- CIO’s Building Investment Trust from $200 million to $1.9 billion over a ten year period. Bob also worked for five years as the senior vice president and division manager of the real estate industries at Maryland National Bank. Bob graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1965 with a B.S. in civil engineering and he attended the Graduate Government and Business program at George Washington University from the fall of 1968 to the spring of 1970. He has 43 years of industry experience.
Stephen Perry | Executive Vice President
Stephen Perry serves as a member of the Real Estate Investment Policy Committee and is responsible for advising the real estate team on GSA property strategy and client service. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2014, Steve was the President/Executive Director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, where he continues to serve as an Honorary Member of the Board of Trustees. Previously, Steve served as the 17th Administrator (CEO) of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), a position appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. While at the GSA, Steve was responsible for overseeing the agency's 14,000 employees and the improvement of the government's workplace by managing assets, maximizing value in acquisitions, and implementing technology solutions. He also held various managerial positions at The Timken Company, and served in the Cabinet of Ohio Governor George Voinovich as Director of the Department of Administrative Services. Steve has also served as an active participant in a number of organizations, including the Board of Directors for Labor Policy Association, Manufacturing Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, and the National Association of Manufacturing, and has served on numerous boards involved in community service. Steve holds an MS in management from Stanford University and a BA in accounting from the University of Akron. Steve has 42 years of industry experience.
CASEY WENDELN | SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, HEAD OF ASSET MANAGEMENT
Casey Wendeln oversees asset management and financing for the real estate team. Since joining Boyd he has worked on approximately $600 million in acquisitions and development projects and placed $950 million in debt financing. Prior to joining Boyd in 2009, Casey worked in the Capital Markets Group at Jones Lang LaSalle in Chicago, where he worked on over $2.4 billion in commercial property transactions. He also worked at ProLogis Trust while getting his MBA. Casey graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in finance and earned his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Casey has 15 years of industry experience.
Kathleen Herrin | Senior Vice President, Controller
Kathy oversees accounting, finance, cash management and external audit functions for the real estate area. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2010, Kathy was Vice President, Controller and Asset Manager for a boutique Chicago real estate investment firm. As controller she was responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting and forecasting for a $550 million real estate portfolio. As Asset Manager she was responsible for monitoring the activities of third-party property management. In addition, Kathy spent ten years at ORIX Real Estate Equities as vice president in accounting and finance, where she worked in the areas of corporate and development accounting. Lastly, Kathy spent seven years at LaSalle Partners as a portfolio controller, working on several large managed fund accounts. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a concentration in finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kathy has 28 years of real estate industry experience.
Joseph Capra | VICE PRESIDENT, ACQUISITIONS
Joe Capra is responsible for acquisitions for the real estate team. Prior to joining BWAM in 2015, Joe was director of the Midwest Capital Market Group at DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield), the third largest real estate services firm in the world. Previously, Joe oversaw the disposition of the assets of failed banks at the FDIC and served on the committee responsible for managing a $3 billion commercial real estate loan portfolio. Joe also held positions at Barclays Capital, where he oversaw the origination, underwriting, and securitization of over $1.25 billion in commercial real estate loans, and at Keybank Real Estate Capital, where he managed a $600 million portfolio of commercial real estate loans. Prior to Barclays he worked for Keybank Real Estate Capital where he managed a $600 million portfolio of commercial real estate loans. Joe earned his MBA in finance from the University of Missouri and has over 22 years of investment experience.
Brian Orr | Vice President, Asset Management
Brian Orr is an asset manager for the real estate team and also handles dispositions of existing assets. Prior to joining BWAM in 2014, Brian worked at Ernst & Young, LLP, where he managed a team on various investment consulting, valuation, and capital markets engagements for the Transaction Real Estate Advisory Services group. He also served as a leasing specialist for the General Services Administration (GSA), responsible for performing lease procurement and leasehold portfolio management, as well as conducting market analysis and working with building representatives and brokers while negotiating leases for various federal agencies. Earlier in his career, Brian held various financial and analytical real estate positions. Brian is a member of the Chicago Real Estate Council, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Real Estate Management. Brian has a BA from Purdue University. Brian has over ten years of investment experience.
Amanda Jacobson | Vice President, Asset Management
Amanda Jacobson is an asset manager for the real estate team and also handles dispositions of existing assets. Prior to joining Boyd in 2010, Amanda worked for seven years in portfolio management at RREEF, on RREEF’s flagship fund RREEF America REIT II, as well as on separate accounts for both pension funds and private equity. Previously, Amanda served as an acquisitions analyst at Equity Residential Properties Trust and as an auditor and business valuation analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Amanda has a BBA in accounting and finance from Indiana University and earned her MBA at DePaul University’s Kellstadt School of Management. Amanda has 16 years of industry experience.
Kristen Franke | Vice President, Asset Management
Kristen Franke is an asset manager for the real estate team and also handles dispositions of existing assets. Prior to joining BWAM in 2014, Kristen worked at IndCor Properties, Inc., a Blackstone Company, focusing on ownership and management of industrial properties. She also served as portfolio and asset manager for Charter Hall Real Estate, formerly Macquarie Real Estate Inc. and has held various financial and analytical real estate positions in her early career. Kristen has a B.S. from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. with emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from the University of San Diego. Kristen has 16 years of industry experience.
Eric Dowling | Vice President, Acquisitions
Eric Dowling works in acquisitions for the real estate team. Prior to joining BWAM in 2015, Eric worked for Green Courte Partners, where he had broad responsibilities in acquisitions and asset management and led the disposition efforts for various properties. Eric also previously worked for The DSF Group where he was involved in underwriting and financial modeling for properties. Other positions held include responsibilities for underwriting as an analyst for Arbor Commercial Mortgage and an acquisitions analyst at BPG Properties. Eric has a BS from Villanova University, and earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Eric has 8 years of industry experience.
Hugh Nisbet | Vice President, Acquisitions
Hugh Nisbet works in acquisitions for the real estate team. Hugh joined Boyd Watterson Asset Management in 2017. Hugh brings 23 years of financial services experience to BWAM most recently working as a senior underwriter for KeyBank, focusing on its Commercial Mortgage Back Securities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan products. Hugh has also held credit and production positions for Barclays Real Estate Capital’s and Natixis’ commercial real estate lending divisions. Throughout his commercial real estate career, Hugh has facilitated the structuring and financing of over $2 billion worth of commercial real estate transactions. He also held various positions in insurance and derivatives trading early in his financial services career. Hugh received his B.S.B.A. and M.B.A with a concentration in Finance from the University of Missouri.
Nikola Tatic | Financial Analyst , Acquisitions
Nikola Tatic works in acquisitions for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2016, Nikola worked at GEM Realty Capital as an intern in their real estate acquisitions group, providing analysis and market research on a variety of different asset types. He also worked at The Hearn Company as a summer intern for their real estate acquisitions team. Nikola has a B.A. in Economics from Indiana University.
James Georgantas, CFA | Assistant Vice President, Asset Management
James Georgantas works in asset management for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2015, James worked at Global Logistic Properties (formerly IndCor Properties, Inc.), focusing on financial analysis for a vast portfolio of industrial real estate. James also served as a senior associate within the real estate audit practice for KPMG, LLP. James is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Charter from CFA Institute. James is a member of the AICPA, the ICPAS, CFA Institute, and CFA Society Chicago, where he serves on two advisory panels. James has a BA and a Master's Degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. James has 5 years of industry experience.
Ryan Howard | Financial Analyst, Asset Management
Ryan Howard works in asset management for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2017, Ryan worked for Deloitte in their Real Estate Consulting group. Ryan earned a BBA with a double major in real estate and finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has 3 years of industry experience.
RANK DAWSON, CFA | VIce President, Portfolio consultant
Rank Dawson is a Portfolio Consultant. Rank joined Boyd Watterson Asset Management in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, Rank was a credit analyst and a member of the mutual fund research team with Key Private Bank in Cleveland. He also served as an investment research analyst at UBS. Rank holds a CFA Charter from CFA Institute, an MBA from Xavier University, and a BA from the University of Dayton. Rank is a member of the CFA Society of Cleveland and CFA Institute.
Ken Kilpatrick | Research Analyst
Ken Kilpatrick is a Research Analyst for the Real Estate division. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson, Ken worked at First National Bank of PA as a financial analyst. Ken holds a BS in finance from Youngstown State University. He is currently pursuing his CFA designation and has completed level 1.
Angelica Rocuant | Portfolio Accountant
Angelica Rocuant is the portfolio accountant for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson Asset Management, Angelica worked for many years at Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, where she ultimately served as senior property accountant. Angelica began her career at Millbrook Properties, working closely with the real estate and development teams as well as with tenants. Angelica has also held various positions at other real estate firms, including, Jones Lang LaSalle, NAI Hiffman, and General Growth Properties. Angelica has a BS in accounting from Northeastern Illinois University. Angelica has 14 years of industry experience.
Thoriq A. Hardian | Senior Staff Accountant
Thoriq serves as the Senior Staff Accountant for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in September 2016, Thoriq held positions at KeyBank as a senior fund accountant and at PNC Bank as senior operation specialist/senior fund accountant for the Building Investment Trust. Thoriq holds a BA in finance and a Master of Accountancy from Cleveland State University. Thoriq has 8 years of industry experience.
Cynthia Turnbow | Administrative Assistant
Cynthia Turnbow works in administration for the real estate team. Prior to joining Boyd Watterson in 2015, Cynthia served as the investor relations specialist and internal wholesaler at TSG Real Estate for four years. She also worked at FPL Advisory Group for 11 years as the receptionist/administrative Assistant. Cynthia holds a Series 6 and Series 63. Cynthia has 20 years of industry experience.
